Ryan’s Thoughts on Tierra Oscura (Full Transcript)
The following is a word-for-word transcript from the video above.
Good afternoon, everyone. This is Ryan from United Country Real Estate in Bocas Town. Today we’re out in Tierra Oscura, close to the Dolphin Bay area, just enjoying some time on the water and soaking up the sun. Being out here got me thinking about how much we truly love this place.
We like it so much that we actually maintain a couple of properties out here, and we spent our first four years living in the Bocas area right here as well. Over time, we realized that not a lot of people really focus on this part of Bocas, which is surprising. This area is actually a hot little expat community-a tight-knit group of people who really enjoy life out here.
Despite some naysayers who get frustrated with the local property market, there’s actually quite a bit going on for little old Bocas Town. If you’re considering buying property in Bocas del Toro, this area is definitely worth a look. It’s a cool spot and no more than about a 30-minute trip from town, depending on your boat and where you’re coming from-Isla San Cristobal or elsewhere. Sometimes it’s as quick as 10 minutes, sometimes closer to 25, but either way, it’s really not a bad deal.
Now that the road has been finished, life out here has become much easier than it was when we first lived here. Construction projects are simpler, and people are enjoying a more comfortable, relaxed lifestyle. It really is worth taking a peek.
If you’re thinking about buying property, this might be the place to explore. And if you’re considering selling, it’s worth noting that when we looked at the numbers, there have only been 34 successfully closed open-market property sales that we’re aware of-and we closed 27 of those. That gives us a pretty good chance of being able to help you sell your property, and we’d be happy to do so. We know this area extremely well.
So keep it in mind, it’s a cool area and definitely worth a look. See you on the next one.
